Photographing Nature

The world is in a parlous state and that pains me. A lot.

I am so often preoccupied with all the ghastliness and bad stuff that I can sometimes forget the sheer magnitude of beauty that surrounds us.

I am not sentimental about Nature – I understand both its tremendous force (I lived through a series of earthquakes) and its utter indifference to us humans (I had a near-drowning experience, in the Atlantic!)

All this wonder and glory was here long before we ever were and I can only hope that it will still be here long after we are gone.

These photographs are my sort of ‘hommage‘. I’ll be putting up more …

I have these images produced as Giclee Prints on Hahnemuhle Pearl fine art paper which has an exquisite, slightly orange peel texture … gives them a painterly feel … if you are interested in any of these, just contact me and we can talk, work something out for you.
